A: Duck tape holds up a lot better
by|May 4, 2021
A: Duck tape is stronger
by|May 4, 2021
A: Stronger hold
by|Oct 29, 2019
A: One is thicker material, depends on job for strength
by|Jan 7, 2020
A: Well for one thing is The 3998B50 is a black Waterproof Cloth Tape made of flexible polythene coated woven cloth tape coated with an aggressive rubber adhesive. Where as the gray tape isn't. Plus the black leaves no residue behind. I use it in my DJ service it's black so I can put it on my tripods for the lights and the light clamps to make the pipe it attaches too thicker and it won't spin or turn and point down. But the big reason is well the black yes blends with the tripod pole pipes but the no residue is nice no mess.

Answer This Question
A: It is red.
by|Nov 7, 2019
A: No it's solid red. I'm not sure if anyone makes opaque tape.
by|May 14, 2020
A: Product is red sticks very well does not leave any residue
by|Dec 17, 2020
A: Hello - Thank you for asking. This is solid red in color.
by|May 10, 2019
A: I would say if you used 2 layers, it would cover the words perfectly. I could very very slightly see through a single layer of tape.

A: It might. Im using it for outdoor signs

A: Hello - Thank you for asking. Generally, if residue does occur it can be removed. Citrus based cleaners will often soften the residue left behind from duct tape. Acetone, which is found in fingernail polish remover, is also effective in dissolving the residue. Either product can be applied to a cloth and rubbed on the affected area. The residue should gradually soften the residue so that it can be wiped clean.

A: From my experience, it will leave a residue. I used it on concrete and it left a residue and also started to shred and not pull off easy upon removal. The material would also be hard to write on. A sharpie might be the only thing that would stick to it

A: No residue when removed within 1 month... unsure about longer time frame.

A: Hello - Thank you for asking. We have not tested our tapes for this exact use. However, the tape can be used and a variety of surfaces. We would recommend testing it. If you have any additional questions or concerns please connect with us directly at 1-800-494-3552 M-F 8am-5pm CT.
by|Dec 27, 2018
A: It isn't very strong tape at all. You might get it to work, but might need to replace it often. Many air vents have vanes inside that can be directed to control the flow of the air. I would look to try something else. I also don't know how hot air would interact with this very thin product. Heat is something you should be concerned with when blocking off an air register. Another possibility could be to install a very this piece of metal/ aluminum inside to block off that half or the vent. I hope something in this reply helps you

A: I would imagine it would work, Duct tape sticks to most everything..
by|Dec 27, 2018
A: yes
by|Dec 27, 2018
A: Yes, but depending on the register style and design, you might be better off removing the deflector cover and putting something on the inside to block the air flow on one side. I have rectangular covers that direct air 3 directions, and have blocked one direction with serial box cardboard. Some round registers have a chain that opens or closes vanes that can reduce or shut off the air flow. Normal rectangular vent covers have a lever to adjust the air flow, from wide open to closed. If you do not have a lever on a rectangular vent cover, maybe you would be better off replacing the cover with one that can control the air flow.
