A: Those rated N95 are for non-oil situations, or P100 which is rated for oil.
N95 – Filters at least 95% of airborne particles. Not resistant to oil.
P100 – Filters at least 99.97% of airborne particles. Strongly resistant to oil.

A: Respirator filters are rated according to how much particulate matter they can reliably block. A P100 rating is the highest for personal respiratory protection. As long as your mask fits properly a P100 filter will block 99.9% of particles .3 microns or larger. (If you're interested in the nitty-gritty the CDC has a comprehensive and fairly unreadable guide to particulate respirators.)

A: Those that are rated at least N95 by NIOSH, but keep in mind the cartridge must still be correct for the model respirator it is being purchased for.

Q:Although it clearly states this item for sale is for a "Case of 5", does this mean 5 cases each containing two (2) cartridges for an actual total of ten (10) individual cartridge filters, i.e. for five (5) complete replacement "sets" for the 3M 65021 H1 Half Face Mask?

Answer This Question
A: Evidently it does, as it states in the Product Overview above that each "pack" contains "1 pair". Obviously, I missed this when I reviewed the product description - sorry, my error.

Q:will this cartridge keep out vapors when using concentrated bleach? also will the cartridge keep out gasoline fumes (from pressure cleaning)?
by|Oct 25, 2019

Answer This Question
A: NO. This cartridge only grabs organic vapors, and bleach is totally different. 3M makes cartridges specifically for chlorine that work with the same respirators. This cartridge should capture gasoline fumes, but cleaning with gasoline is dangerous. Don't let them find a burnt corpse wearing a functional respirator.

A: This question has serious potential life safety implications. I'd recommend that you do a search for respirator recommendations and look at the respirator selection guides published by NIOSH and also by 3m. Don't rely on the opinions of anonymous posters on a retailer's website when it's a matter of life safety.

A: No. For bleach you need a respirator cartridge with AG on it. It stands for Acid Gas. I cleaned mold with bleach in my basement while using an OV/AG cartridge and had no issues. Also, it?s a very good idea to wear goggles to protect your eyes and a hat.

Q:Can I use this filter to work with pink insulation?

Answer This Question
A: This really isn't the right filter for your purpose. It would do the job but it would be a waste. You need a particle filter. Let's see if I can put a link in here https://www.homedepot.com/p/3M-P100-Particulate-Filters-2-Pair-2097PA1-A/202719894
If you don't see a link, what you need is P100 particulate filters.
