Q:How long will this last as is, if I don't paint or stain it? Will be closing in a deck to keep cats on the porch. Live in Louisiana so rain is the issue.

Answer This Question
A: Not very long if you don't stain it or otherwise protect it from the elements. Be advised that the staples holding this lattice together are simple steel staples and will rust after the first rain. Additionally, without any protection the wood will dry out and cracking and splintering will occur.

A: I didn’t paint since FL weather is mostly sunny. However, I do recommend to stain it well and use the water repellent since the rain is your issue.
