A:  Yes. Anchor 7-Stage Counter Top Filtration System has KDF-55 as the filtration media which is very effective in removing heavy metals such as Lead from water.

A:  We bought this following our tap water was tested for having minute lead trace. Although not even close to a high amount that would cause health problems it still was enough to invest in this water filter. I cannot remember what the health inspector recorded in her assessment, but it was clear of any lead traces following our fitting of this filter. She came back on a daily bases for a week and all was clear. Although new lead free pipes have now been installed, we have kept the water filter in place and will continue to do so. A:  It is recommended to change the filter cartridge either after its capacity 1500 gallons is reached or after 6 months from first use, whichever is earlier. Also when the water pressure becomes low, you should consider changing the filter cartridge.

A:  It’s going to depend on how bad your water is. If your water is really bad the filter will clog much faster. Home Depot sells the filter. And yes one comes with.
