A: The 22x22 size is not recommended or intended for this application. You would be better off with a metal door which is more sturdy and secure. Thank you.

A: For your opening the 22X22 would work. The only thing with this size is that you may have to remove part of the wall (sheetrock) to accomodate the 22 inches

A: The hole I was covering was between two metal ceiling studs that were 24" on center so one side I could screw into the metal stud and the other I installed a piece of metal stud and screwed it into the existing metal stud and that gave me enough support to screw in the flange of the plastic frame. If you have room to cut your hole larger then this will work fine if not you might want to see about another size.

A: Yes, I would use a plastic panel , if out of sun , Like I did to Acsess plumbing in shower , behind door , a mirror can be hung over panel, if necessary , but looks great in my case , with out mirror , the steel panel cost more & was not needed in this case.

A: I wouldn't. It is plastic and cutting a hole in it would weaken it considerably. Might be ok it you don't intend handle the panel after you install it.

A: No sorry it can't it needs to fit in the frame it comes with.. it has little notches that catch to keep closed in place.

A: Yes, I would recommend to drill holes and screw it fast. That way you could remove it to clean it.

A: Keep in mind that the frame and the door that fits into it are all plastic. I suppose you could cut a hole in the door big enough to fit your vent register as long as it's not too heavy. The door and frame that I previously bought and installed in the ceiling is holding up fine but there's no additional weight being put on it.
