Q:Is this light kit compatible with an older model Hawkins fan UPC 792145357360. I cannot find bulbs to fit the current light fixture that is on this fan - 40 W candelabra base, 3 long bulb.

Answer This Question

A:  Yes, this light kit will be compatible with UPC 792145357360. However, this is the exact same light kit as your original. It uses 3 E12 size sockets and requires candelabra bulbs. The bulbs you use on the light kit don't have to be exactly the same as the originals (which have been discontinued). As long as the bulbs you find have the same candelabra base and do not exceed 40 watts each you can install them on the light kit.

Q:Can you use LED light bulbs and if so what would be an equivalent.

    Answer This Question

A:  Yes, if the LED bulbs match the E12 socket size they can be used. The original incandescent bulbs for this light kit are 40 watts each so that translates to LED bulbs that are 6-8 watts each.

Q:The description says this has one light, but the picture shows two. I'm looking for a light kit for the Hawkins model with three E12 sockets in Brushed Nickel Finish (Model Number YG204-BN is my best guess).

      Answer This Question

A:  The angle of the picture obscures the 3rd socket; this is the correct light kit for the Hawkins fan model you are looking for. It has 3 E12 sockets.

Q:How do you disconnect the blue and white wire clips to remove the bad light kit from the fan unit?

A:  I managed with pliers on either side of the white plastic tubes on each wire. I recommend do not be forceful ..just firm. It may be necessary to depress the tabs in the slots. I used needle nose pliers, I have for electrical projects in amateur radio.I have seen pliers like that for fly tying. Nevertheless, I thing any pliers or even channel locks would grip well enough to gently pull it apart rather than break it.

A:  I had the same problem. The wires just pull straight apart at the white plastic connection. There is no instructions that tell you this! The white connection piece comes apart in the middle, but it is pretty snug, so it takes a good tug!

A:  Firmly pull them apart one at a time. Hold each end of the white plastic connector clip as not to damage wiring.

A:  You will need to just pull them apart.
