    A:  Yes it is tapered. It's 3.5 inches where it enters the sleeve in the ground and I don't know what it is for sure at the top but it is a significant taper.

              A:  Hello, it would be according to the flagpole you which to purchase to replace the existing pole you have now. for a 20' flag pole we have a couple of different types you could purchase. We have a 1 piece Fiberglass pole and a 3 piece Fiberglass pole. thanks,

                A:  2 piece . Great flagpole .we have had many compliments on it.had to have 85 ft oak tree taking down near it had tree guys unhook it and was easy to do.we would buy another .withstands high wind .
