Q:Will this product be harmful to my dog if I spray along the entryway of my home? My concern is with him walking in/out of the home his little paws are exposed to it, or sometimes he likes to lay right beside the door so that would put him at nose level almost exactly where I intend to spray. Even more concerning is if he were to lick his paws (as dogs tend to do) after walking on a sprayed area; would that harm him in any way?

A:  Hi Natalie. Spraying along the entryway of your home would be a very effective way to keep spiders out, even if you have pets. Remove your dog from the treatment area while you spray and keep him out until the treated floor is completely dry. After that, it's ok for him to use the treated area as usual.

        A:  No!

        by|Dec 12, 2016

A:  The can says it is hazardous to humans and animals so I certainly would not spray it where my dogs would go. Once it dries it is probably safe -- but I'd rather err on the side of caution. It does not say it is Pet Safe!

A:  This main reason I purchase it to sprayed on the spider and it will kill the spider on contact with the spray in about 30 seconds. You spray around windows and eves area were they like to put there web. The will not typically go back to the same place where you spray but they will try to find another place to put there web. Black Flag claims the spray is good for 16 weeks. Not sure how it hold up in the rain since it's water base product.

A:  Because of the chemicals, I only used the spray outside around the parameters of my house and garage, around the windows, and roof tiles. I have not seen a spider since, neither outside nor inside. So, in my case they didn't suddenly come into the house. It actually chased them out of the house, too.

A:  Sure. Spray along baseboards, cracks, behind stoves and refrigerators and anywhere else spiders are a problem for up to 16 weeks of residual protection. As long as your family stays out of treated areas until the spray is dry, there are no further precautions needed.

A:  We're sorry you're having trouble finding that information -- the active ingredients are 0.025% Prallethrin and 0.030% Lambda Cyhalothrin.

A:  The active ingredients are not listed on the label. The label does say that the product is toxic to fish so it should not be applied to water and you should avoid using it where it is likely to be washed into your local watershed.
