Q:The bag supposedly weighs 40 lbs. One customer says there are about 50 rocks in a bag (on another site I read only 25 or so in a bag) So say if there ARE 50 rocks in a 40 lb bag, each rock must weigh, on average 3/4 of a pound or so. Is that correct? Weight is important to me, as I need these to add weight to large planters.

A:  They are separated into 40lb bags, so an order of "1" is 40lbs, which doesn't cover a very large area.

    A:  Hello Atrium, We have a Contractor Super Sack that weighs 2,200 lbs. This covers approximately 165 square feet at a 1 in depth. If you purchase 3 this would give you approximately 495 square feet. What I recommend is buying one pallet at a time and seeing how far that would take you. These coverage's are an approximation, and will vary based on the size and density of the material. Once you get down to the last bit of your project, then I would purchase the single 40 lb bags.       A:  Hello Terry, The pebbles are going to be within 2"-3" in size. The square footage per bag is for a single layer of the material.         A:  This will cover 3 square feet at 2 inches deep per unit. You will need at least 7 .5 cubic ft units.

          A:  Hello, Yes you can paint on our pebbles. However, depending on the size of the words you are wanting to put on them, you might want to go a size or two larger.               A:  Our bag had about 50. We used them for a rock painting event so their irregular shapes and sizes worked very well.
