A: Yes it does have an on/off switch. Love the look of them but they don't shine very bright because plastic is sort of frosted and the batteries died with in a month and I replaced them and they didn't last very long. Disappointed since I purchased 12 of them.

A: There is an On/Off switch under the lid. The switch is in the Off position when it arrives and needs to be switched to the On position in order for the batteries to be charged.

A: Barely any light. If you are located where there is a lot of sun for long periods, you may get a decent draw of light. Latitudes north ( I am in Pennsylvania) I would say these are not a great choice, for light.
