A:  No, you can't purchase the endcap separately

A:  The patterns are just like when you purchase the flooring, a few different grains.

A:  No. The very weak joints that crack normally won't stand a chance. They were special order. I would have been better off getting lumber, making new steps and finishing them. Every one has cracked. Most on installation.

A:  Sure, why not? The tread width on these new planks is quite wide. I have normal straight up risers - I had to rip them down on the back edge to fit. To keep it flush, the edge that meets the angled riser I would cut to match, but it isn't necessary.

A:  Best match I've found, however it is not exact. Let's look at the differences. Cap and Tread is completely smooth, while the Trafficmaster has a simulated wood texture in the grain. The color and grain are not perfect, where a bit of stain helped to darken the slightly lighter C&T. The dimensions are totally different so you better have some craftsman skills to match. The most troubling was the thicker C&T. I mimicked the interlocking groves found in the TM planks edges. I also used the TM planks as risers. Take a look at my results...I think it looks great.

A:  Yes, match’s perfectly. I only did the treads and painted risers white. Just know if you get right or left returns they do not come assembled - you have to do it.

A:  I bit thicker than the floor. Had to shim. The curve at the end of the step is a weak and flimsy design. They all broke during installation except for one that broke a week later.

A:  I saw an 8foot one on the HD site when I was doing my floors in July.

A:  It comes in 47 or 94 inch length. So you’d have to buy the 94 and cut it down. Fair amount of waste, but it would work. I had to buy the 47 for my 35” stairs.
