Thank you for your interest in Zamma Cap-A-Tread stair renewal system. You will need to purchase one additional CapKit, cut the bull nose off the front of the extra set and miter both edges of the cap-a-tread being installed on the step as well as the side bull nose pieces to a 45 degree angle. The extra riser would be used between the top step and the edge of the flooring. Best of luck with your stair renewal project.

Q:I'm removing carpet from my stairs and don't have existing treads. Can this product be placed directly on the plywood stair?

A: Very good question. The Type 2 (Square Nose) are not available with a pre-mitered cut. The bull nose on the cap-a-tread will need to be mitered, to a 45-degree angle during installation. Best of luck with your stair project.

Q:I ordered 2 with a return and the return point on both were flattened a bit so won't make a clean 45 angle. Anyone else have this problem? Seems like they need to have better packaging

When looking up the stairs from the bottom, if they are open on the left, you will need to order model# 016273783; if opened on the right side, you will need to order 016173783. One side of the cap-a-tread will be pre-mitered. The side bull nose piece will need to be cut and mitered during installation. Best of luck with your project.
