A:  There is an A and B side. The finish side has very distinct grain texture, the back side is smooth. See the pics though the grain doesn't really come through in the pic.

A:  This 1/4" panel has a B grade face and a 3 back. Generally meant to be a good one side panel.

A:  One side is smoother than the other. The side with the most grain look is a little rougher. However, that makes it look and feel like real wood. It is by no means "rough", it's just not as smooth as the other side.

A:  One side is very rough and one is smooth.

A:  Both are sanded A sides
