A: I had them in my garage in Colorado which is unheated and would drop to around freezing each night and had no issues with them. As and LED bulb it will work much better at low temps than a florescent.
by|May 4, 2023
A: The box says they work down to -4 Fahrenheit. I’ll take their word for it as I’m not going into the garage to check if it’s -4.
by|May 5, 2023
A: Yes, I have one in the garage so it does get quite cold.

Q:Can the housing be opened? I saw in one pic there may be a tamper seal of some sort, so is it made to be opened or is it permanently sealed? I prefer a clean look, so I would rather make the connections on the inside of the unit, instead of splicing the wires on the outside.

A: It's a $20 light. Don't mess with it. Just install an outlet feeding off your power source.

A: yes, but im sure it will void warranty, just know that going into it. simply open up plug end, and cut the cord inside the box end, make your splice there I would personally disconnect your plug inside that as if you wire it in the plug end will be live.

A: This is a plug in shop light only, it cannot be tampered with otherwise it may not work and the warranty would be voided. If you are looking for a lighting solution that needs to be hardwired in, please look at the Commercial Electric Edge-lit flat panels. There is a 1ft x2ft that will offer you great lighting and dimmable: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Commercial-Electric-1-ft-x-2-ft-White-LED-Edge-Lit-Flat-Panel-Flushmount-74030-HD/206040714

Q:Says they are linkable, what cord is used to accomplish this?
by|Jan 25, 2017

Answer This Question
A: There is a 5' power cord off one end (the end with the pull chain) and a receptacle on the other end of the tube (see Home Depot picture of the lamp). So to link one lamp with another, I think you would just use the power cord of the second lamp to plug into the receptable of the first lamp that's plugged in to the wall. Hope this helps.
