Q:Do I need to prime fresh drywall before using this product? What about a soil coated wall?

      Answer This Question

A:  If the wall is dirty this product will be faulty. The instructions say to clean the wall. You need a clean level surface.   As for priming… its not required. It will stick to bare drywall. If you’re using this on top of other surfaces aside from drywall, you might want to consult the manufacturer. I believe you can download the instructions for this product on the Home Depot website, or if not there, online.

Q:Does the roll come wrapped in packaging inside the box?

            Answer This Question

A:  When you open the box there is a roll, think of plastic wrap, inside. There is a film on the front of the material. I can not remember if there is a film on the backing. We applied it as a backsplash in my kitchen two years ago and it is still holding great. We laid the material down on the counter, front side down, cut the length and then applied to the wall. Hope this helps.

A:  I think yes but this is something you can check in-store. Used several times once over existing tiles in shower surround & worked great. Terrific product, easy to use, wish they had it for floors.

A:  You can grout immediately and its probably a bad idea to let it sit for an extended period. Grout will actually harden and help set the tiles. I have used this in small applications (backsplash) and large (8x14 laundry room wall. I've also used for shower walls and found the longer you wait, the more apt the tiles might sag or loosen.

A:  The adhesive felt like it held the tile really well, and it was easy to cut and place on wall. I used a 2" x 3" tile. It didn't take long to put up backsplash, but I went ahead and set the grout right after to allow proper drying time.

A:  This material has a very strong bond. I would feel comfortable overlaying the current material as long as the current material has a good bond.

A:  I am not sure if that is the proper use, however this stuff is so sticky that I’m sure it will work. Just to give you a perspective on how sticky this stuff is: I wanted to remove a tile I placed crooked and when I tried, my drywall started ripping off.. haha, I had to re-drywall that patch. Anyways, once this stuff is on the wall, it’s on there good!
