They are roughly 2 inches thick, but beyond their thickness, their real benefit is how much liquid they absorb. I always have these handy. They have multiple uses like rinsing cleanser from shower stall walls, smoothing caulk lines perfectly, picking up water quickly, drywall topping texturing, pulling the last bit of water out of toilet tanks prior to removing the valve assembly, and, of course, grout detailing. If you've never bought these, once you do, you'll find them indispensable.
I believe it to be around 3 inches. I bought it a long time ago and am not at home where I keep it.
