It has been a while since I installed the drain kit, however if memory serves me correctly the kit also includes the linkage mechinism for connecting the bronze mechanism with the drain however it was a difficult to access. You may want to search some utube videos or perhaps the kit manurfacturer has a website with installation videos. I remember that I had a difficult time unscrewing the 35 year old old drain and had to buy a drain removal tool. Thanks Bob

A:  Thank you for inquiring about a Danco product. You will need the tub drain linkage and plunger assembly #88924 for your trip lever tub drain kit.

A:  Thank you for contacting Danco. This is a universal tub drain kit and is supplied with a threaded adapter bushing to fit 1-1/2 in. and 1-3/8 in. drain shoe sizes.

A:  After the wear on most drains, the surface is uneven and the gasket, being of a less flexible (or harder) rubber, may not seal completely. To the average person (not necessarily the plumber), plumber's putty, even in the smallest available container, is equal to the amount they will use in about 10-15 years and it becomes a shelf decoration container in which there is a dried-up, rock-hard, useless piece of something that once resembled plumber's putty but is now only marginally (because it is not smooth and round) useful as slingshot ammo. Share liberally with the neighborhood or find a neighbor who is following this advice and get some from him or her. Make offers among friends frequently, you never know who might need some. Good ice-breaker: "Anybody here need any plumber's putty?!!"

A:  The kit parts appear to be "universal" but the sleeve that actually attaches to the trip lever and closes the drain does vary in size and (possibly) attaches differently. Save the part that attaches to the trip lever. you may have to adapt it to work with the Drain Trip Lever Conversion Kit you purchased.
