Q:will this glue adhere wood trim to DAP webpaste 90?
by|Mar 21, 2022
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for posting your inquiry on DAP RapidFuse and DAP Webpatch 90. Given the porous/absorbent nature of DAP Webpatch 90, when bonding wood trim to it, the use of a traditional heavy-bodied, gun-grade construction adhesive, such as DAP DYNAGRIP Heavy Duty Construction Adhesive would be recommended. Should you have any additional questions or require further assistance, please free to contact DAP’s Technical Customer Service Department at 888-327-8477.

    Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for posting your inquiry. DAP RapidFuse can be used for the application as described. As indicated on the product package label and supporting product literature: "For optimal performance, adequately cover one of the two adjoining surfaces. Join the two surfaces with pressure (enough to tightly bring the surfaces together). A large amount of squeeze-out is not necessary. 30 seconds to set, 30 minutes to cure." Should you have any additional questions or require further assistance, please contact DAP’s Technical Customer Service Department at 888-327-8477.

          Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for posting your inquiry. Given that the application area already has a factory applied pressure sensitive adhesive (which RapidFuse has not been tested with), we would not recommend its use. Should you have any additional questions or require further assistance, please feel free to contact DAP’s Technical Customer Service Department at 888-327-8477.

Q:Can rapidfuse be used to glue down a replacement dashboard where the silicone didn’t hold ?

              Answer This Question

A:  You could try it but I think it would be difficult to get a large bead of glue because of its viscosity, which you would need on some spots to insure proper bonding.

              by|Jul 27, 2021

A:  Yes - if all surfaces are clear of other adhesives and any dust or debris.

              by|Sep 21, 2021

A:  Possibly, however it works best on a clean smooth surface where an amount of pressure can be placed on the material being glued. So if there is leftover silicone on the surface it must be scraped off.

A:  Thank you for posting your inquiry. As a general rule, once silicone has been applied to a surface, it should be treated as "contaminated", as silicone and its residue is classified as a bond-breaker (a surface/material that other adhesives are not expected to properly bond to). Should you have any additional questions or require further assistance, please contact DAP’s Technical Customer Service Department at 888-327-8477.

A:  It is super easy to use. It is like a gel type and drys fast within no more than 1 minute and cures within 30 minutes. You can use it on multiple surfaces. Better than gorilla super glue.

A:  Thank you for posting your inquiry on DAP RapidFuse All Purpose Adhesive. When stored properly, the product is expected to have an 18-month shelf life (from the date of manufacture). Depending on the frequency of use, storage/handling conditions, once opened (placed into use), the product will thicken over time, eventually the product will thicken to a point where further use is impractical/impossible. Should you have any additional questions or require further assistance, please feel free to contact DAP’s Technical Customer Service Department at 888-327-8477.

A:  This is used to repair dishes, serving platters and many items dealing with food service. There is no mention that this cannot be done on the literature. There is nothing residual that would be harmful.
