A:  The decking is probably 3/4 inch thickness which would make the screw length manageable. It is important to remember the type of lumber you are using for your deck joists. These types of screws are made for treated lumber as well. You may want to check to see if the screw color is compatible with your finished deck color. Hope this helps.

A:  I did not count them I used a box to fasten down a 22 ft x 16 foot deck. It took me midway. Fortunately I bought 2 boxes.
