A:  I think the warranty is with the manufacturer which is Dewalt. However, I would call Home Depot, or stop by if there is a defect in the tape measure

A:  I bought one of these while I was in the store - who thinks about reading reviews on tape measures? I am the guy standing in Home Depot checking to see which tape measure can stand out farthest - LOL. It wasn't long before the locking mechanism on this tape measure broke. I tried to keep using it but only grew frustrated as I usually work by myself with no one to hold the dumb end of the tape. And there it sat. Of no real use but I couln't bear to throw it away. I even checked on line to see if I could fix it and that is when I saw Dewalt offered a lifetime warranty on this tape. Now I am not going to the hassle of shipping a $14 tape for replacement. I had to run to Home Depot to pick up a bunch of other stuff and just figured I would try to see if Home Depot might honor the DeWalt warranty - and they did! Where else do you find customer service like that today!

A:  Depends on how long you've owned it.. I'd contact Dewalt Product Warranty or Home Depot as I regularly register ALL of my Dewalt Items on the Dewalt product register part, even drill bits, they are local and they can help if Home Depot won't...
