A: In an electric hand saw, yes. However, the side tooth grid is tight to the blade disc, and any wiggle causes kickback cutting PVC pipe; I tried, and I went back to the Sawzall. For sheet, goods PVC, it works fine!

A: Hi Andrew! Yes, but the 50 tooth version is more appropriate for plastics, and will not risk to chip the PVC. To check it out, just search homedepot.com for Product #D055050NMX.

Answer This Question
A: Hi Chase, we wouldn’t recommend our Metal cutting for hardwood.
For 5-1/2in saw blade cutting hardwood I would recommend our #D055018WMX. To check it out, just search the Product # on Home Depot.

A: Excellent but keep the saw straight, and steadily paced; maybe use a straight edge to guide the saw. There is very little clearance between the disk and width of the teeth, like a standard wood cutting blade. Slick up the table on the saw. 1.5 is fine if the saw reaches that far—very smooth cutting with a small chip almost dust.
