A:  Hello! We ship our shutters primed with "Kilz" primer and then painted.

A:  Great question. The louvers themselves are fixed, so they do not move. If you are referring to the shutters opening and closing, you can order functional shutter hardware and install our shutters using those. The hardware is what allows the shutters open and close.

A:  Thank you for your question and interest in our products. These shutters do have a small gap between the louvers and i suppose air could pass through them if need be all though they are not specifically designed for ventilation.
