Q:Can a sledge hammer knock the lock turn knob off?
          by|Mar 13, 2020

          Answer This Question

A:  I'm guessing it could if it gets hit directly and sharply. If it doesn't break, a few whacks with a sledge would pull the mounting screws out with the same result. This lock design is to keep people honest.

A:  It does turn into the locking position but you do have to have the key to actually lock it. It does not lock w/o the key.

                Answer This Question

A:  The key locking hasp will work on a shed door as long as the gap where the desired location is isn’t too large.

A:  I dont see why.... the mounting surfaces just need to be pretty much level with each other and it should work.

Q:With this lock, can it remain unlocked but still turned to secure the latch? I am planning on using it on a closet as a means of child locking. I would like it to be turned/secured but unlocked to not have to use the key to open it.

                        Answer This Question

A:  Yep. Well designed that way. You have to turn the key tumbler a full 360 to engage the lock, but when unlocked with the knob turned vertical, it will still secure the door from out of reach tykes.

A:  It can remain unlocked and still be turned to secure the latch. However, we do not recommend this for child safety. Please see a store associate for child safety items at your local Home Depot store.
