A:  Yes this kit is for older toilets also. I put one on an old American Standard toilet. In the directions it tells you to installed the thick black gasket on the outside bottom part of the toilet tank however that's not the gasket that will be bad on most toilets. It's the inner one but this kit is still usable and you can put the rubber gasket inside the tank for a good seal.
