The EP170 is a lightweight unit that does come with brush plates that are good for loosening dirt and grim from a floor before using the scouring pads and polishing and buffing pads. If your grout is deep and stained you may way to use a grout cleaner on it and let it set before going over it with the EP170. I would also recommend you look into the Ewbank SC1800 steam cleaner, that comes with a spin brush that is great for grout! And it doesn't use chemicals!

This unit is lightweight and powerful, this floor polishing machine works with a telescopic butterfly handle that can be used with two hands, or closed for single handed operation. Effortlessly polish all sealed hard floors to a high shine. You can also quickly buff floors to bring back to life with the microfiber pads. In addition the floor polisher can be used to easily scrub, scour or wash any hard floor with the pads and brushes included. The pads use to buff are the yellow and the blue pads that come with the unit or can be purchased separately.

A:  Thank you for reaching out with your question. The EP170 is a great residential unit. It is light weight and comes with scrubbing brushes and scrubbing pads to loosen and clean up dirt. It can be used on cement floors but not cement floors that are not smoothed and sealed. If the garage floor is like the concrete you have on your driveway or side walk, no this unit is not built for that. If it is a smooth sealed concrete it can be used there. However, please be aware that this unit can not be submerged in water or liquid of any kind as it is not a mop, and if you are trying to get up oil stains you will need to be sure to use the right kind of cleaner for that, but be aware of the ingredients so as not to damage the unit while using it.

A:  Thank you for your question! THE EP170 has a soft bristle brush. It is great for lifting dirt off the floor and can definitely be used on tile flooring with grout. That being said, it may be best used in tandem with a harder bristle brush if the grout you are trying to clean is emended with dirt or stained.
