Q:I am confused by the directions on the video, it says to buy an 8 ft. post, but wouldn't a 7 ft post be more appropriate? if you bury and 8 ft post 2 ft deep, then that leave 6 feet sticking up out of the ground, but the mailbox if 5 ft tall. the Post would then stick out the top by 1 ft, wouldn't it?

A:  I am looking to put one in also, however in North Dakota, the fost line is four foot deep. You have to dig down that far to go below the fost line otherwise you will have the ice lifting you box up in the winter and your box falling in the late spring when it melts. You will have to dig accordingly to your area. I need the longer post sizes

A:  Posts come standard in 8, 10, or 12 feet lengths. You would need to cut any of the posts to the correct length for the project, but an 8 foot post would be the maximum length you would need.

    Q:So reading ALL the reviews and seeing ALL the pictures (thank you!) I can see that this is next on our list of projects this weekend! Very excited. My main question is from looking at the pictures it appears that some people's posts have more red in the stone, while others have more browns/blues... Is there a standard color option for this? Is it something that the store carries different colors of this or is it all "should be the same" type deal? I'm more curious mainly because the pictures all appear similar in color but there are some that definitely look different.
