Q:Does this work when staining as well? (Instead of paint)

Answer This Question
A: FastMasQ also acts as a primer, so if you are using translucent stain, the stain will adhere but you may see a color variation from where the FastMasQ is applied.
If you are using an opaque stain then it will cover over the FastMaQ.
Like anything else, it's aways best to test it on a sample area.

Q:How much prep is needed for existing windows, with exterior grilles painted with older semi-gloss paint?
I tested this product, and it really was not sticking to the old paint, which also means it won't make a good waterproof lap seal between the window frame and the glass. How can I mitigate this?

A: Not sure this is your product for a seal between window and glass...it is made to peel off too easily.

A: Just like any other paint, you will need to prepare the window first and sand if you have old paint that is peeling in order for the FastMasQ to adhere and act as a primer.

Q:I've a large wall of windows. Can I leave this on the glass for a permanent privacy coating? Does it have to be removed?

Answer This Question
A: Great Question...Yes you can use as a privacy coating, but be prepared that it will be difficult to remove if it stays on past 6 weeks. If you do wish to remove the product after a long period of time, you can use warm (not hot as you could crack the glass) water to assist in the removal process.
Tint Formula: Yes you can tint the FastMasq, It is recommended you go to your local paint store

Q:Does this work when you are staining wood on a window (instead of painting the wood). Would the stain show a different shade where it does not get coated with this product?
by|Nov 29, 2020
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: Stain should not be applied on top of FastMasQ.
Stain is meant to penetrate into the wood, FastMasQ seals the wood, thus the stain will not be able to penetrate as intended.
