A: The glass is tempered but then again it is a full piece of glass. If the glass is broken it will shatter into little pieces.

Q:Has anyone used this door for an office? I’m looking for a door that allows light but will also provide a sound barrier, as I’m trying to keep a quiet office for a loud family.

A: I did not get this door, but I can tell you that the heavier the door, the better it will be at insulating sound and this door does not look heavy or thick enough to do what you want. Although some people don't like them, the melamine/MDF doors provide the thickest and heaviest material for insulating against sound and easily paintable to match your room. But if you're looking for the natural pine look, then you may want to consider something with less light-weight glass/plastic surface area.
I got the JELD-WEN 30 in. x 80 in. Birkdale Primed Left-Hand Smooth Solid Core Molded Composite Single Prehung Interior Door for the bedroom door and the Stile Doors 30 in. x 80 in. 1-Lite Narrow Satin Etch Primed Solid Core MDF Interior Door Slab for the bathroom pocket door. Both do a terrific job of insulating my bedroom from internal and external sounds.

Q:Do you install this door with the frosted (plastic covered side) facing inside the room you want privacy in or facing outside of the room? I'm installing in a bathroom and want to know if I should put the frosted side inside facing the room or outside facing the hallway.

Answer This Question
A: Plastic is just for protection for the ceramic frit(frosted). Usually the fixed stop side(smooth glass) faces the hallway or preferred viewing area which means frosted side would be inside the bathroom.

A: Mine is in my bathroom as well. It doesn't matter which side you put on the inside. The plastic is there for a mask to keep paint off the glass and
help speed up the painting of the door. It is only primed right now.
