A: Yes, you should be able to, just turn it down. I was able to weld the exhaust hanger back onto my muffler.

A: Yes you can. Practice on some scrap tubing for correct settings, as on mine it seems that I need to set voltage and feed higher than the standard recommended values on the info decal.
I really like the welder for what it is.

A: The Forney 140FC-i, is rated for 1/4" welding with a single pass. It is possible to weld thicker material but, will take beveling and multiple passes to do so. Thank you for your question!

Answer This Question
A: The Forney 140 FC-i (261) has three specific voltages that have been tested for duty cycle. 100% at 16.3V, 60% at 17%, 24% at 18.5V. As you would likely have the unit turned up to the maximum voltage for 1/4", which at 20V is higher than the rated 18.5V, it will be less than 24% duty cycle. As duty cycle is not a equation, it is a tested number, we do not have the specific duty cycle percentages for all settings. Thank you for you question.

Answer This Question
A: The Forney 140FC-i (261) comes with a 1 year warranty. During that time if you experience any issues with your machine please reach out to us at 1-800-521-6038. We will be happy to assist you.
For issues that arise beyond the warranty period, I would still advise to reach out to us so we can troubleshoot and find the root cause. Also, we are the only place to purchase warranty parts. In general we at Forney engineer our machines in such a way that anyone could repair the unit with minimal skill required. Likely, after purchasing a repair part, you could perform the repair.
Thank you for your question.
