A:  Hi Mike, thanks for reaching out! Your warranty would not be affected if you install your range hood higher than the recommend 36" above the cooktop. However, if you do so, you may notice a drop in performance if you do so. Your vent hood may not be as effective at removing steam and smoke as it would normally be. We hope that this helps! A:  Hi Larry, We are finding that the depth of the unit, at its base near the cabinets, is roughly 19 1/8".
