Q:Does the fan run when using traditional (non-convection) bake mode? The manual makes it sound like the fan runs during pre-heat for traditional baking, but will it keep cycling on and off if you're in traditional bake mode?

Answer This Question

A:  Hello - that’s a great question! No, the fan does not cycle on and off during a traditional bake cycle. The convection fan will operate during preheat of the bake cycle and will turn off after the oven is heated to the set temperature. -- Other than this, a cooling fan may automatically turn on and off to cool internal parts. It may run after the oven is turned off. -- We hope this is insightful and please feel free to reach out anytime if you have any other questions. Have a wonderful day! Lauren@GEAppliances

      Answer This Question

A:  Hello - This appliance must be supplied with the proper voltage and frequency, and connected to an individual, properly grounded, 40 amp (minimum) branch circuit protected by a circuit breaker or time-delay fuse. You would use only a 3-conductor or a 4-conductor UL-listed range cord. These cords may be provided with ring terminals on wire and a strain relief device. We recommend you have the electrical wiring and hookup of your range connected by a qualified electrician. After installation, have the electrician show you how to disconnect power from the range. We hope this information is helpful. Thanks for taking the time to reach out. Best wishes! -Don@GEAppliances

Q:Do you have to use steam when self-cleaning the oven? How do the oven cleaning modes work?
          by|Aug 23, 2023

          Answer This Question

A:  Hi - With this range, you can choose to use steam clean or self-clean. Steam clean is for small messes and self-clean cleans those tougher messes! With steam clean you will pour one cup of water in the bottom of the oven, and press "Steam Clean", the unit will then run a 30-minute cycle. The self-clean cycle will use high temperatures and will lock the oven during the 3- or 5-hour cycle. If you'd like, you can view the full instructions for these cycles on page 20 of the use and care manual here: https://images.thdstatic.com/catalog/pdfImages/3d/3d7e3612-f4f5-4891-9a21-d145a9eee1f6.pdf. Q:What is the difference in TRUE convection vs standard or conventional convection oven?
                by|Jul 16, 2023
                1 Answer
                Answer This Question

A:  Hello- We appreciate your question and are happy to help! Traditional/Standard doesn't have a convection fan in the oven and does not offer convection cooking modes. Convection has a fan to circulate air in the oven cavity for improved performance. This is the most basic convection system offered. True European Convection has a fan to circulate air in the oven cavity and a heating element around the fan. The heating element provides an additional heat source, allowing further performance improvements particularly for multi-rack baking. We have a great description on our website if you'd like to check it out. If you have any other questions, please reach out to us directly. We are happy to help! Thank you! Joyce@GEA
