A: Hi, JT! Thanks for your interest in Great Stuff™ Pestblock Insulating Foam Sealant. This product is designed to fill gaps and cracks up to 1" to block areas where pests commonly enter your home. On each can, there is a "best if used by" date on the bottom, underside of the can. If the can has expired, that could impact the dispensing of the foam, as could the temperature of the contents of the can if it isn't expired. Great Stuff™ Insulating Foam Sealants should be as close to room temperature as possible when dispensing.

Answer This Question
A: Rodents and small animals, if determined enough, can chew through many materials, including GREAT STUFF™ foam. GREAT STUFF™ Pestblock does not contain any pesticides or poison, however it is specially formulated to help deter mice and other pests from chewing through and reaching a food source on the other side, which is typically the cause for the pests to begin with. In order to achieve the best results, we recommend that you apply a layer of foam and let it cure before adding layer of steel wool or wire mesh and applying a second layer of foam. This makes the foam more difficult for a mouse to chew through.

A: They haven't so far in nearly 2 years. Some areas were fortified with steel wool. If it was an area easily accessible to mice I don't know if it would be as effective.

A: Pestblock has an additive that deters insects from coming through the filler. even if there is a small hole, the pestblock gives off an odor that will stop insects from coming around the block.
