A: Glass dome does have center hole. The threaded rod has an adjusting nut for correct alighned. The bottom decorative item is more of a finishing touch than support for the dome.

Q:Is this light bright even though it has a frosted shade? I need brighter light in my 6X12 walk-in closet. I currently have a clear, glass globe with one 60 watt bulb and it is not enough. Hoping someone can tell me if they think this would give me the light I need. Thanks.

A: Thank you for your inquiry,
This would depend on the bulb used in this fixture as they are sold separately for a brighter look, we suggest a bulb with a high Lumen count.

A: Bulb glass is a diffuser; really doesn't lower brightness.

Q:Can A19, E26, 9W LED bulb fit into this? I realize the spec says A15.

A: Can anyone else verify if the slightly larger A19 bulbs will actually fit? The 100-watt equivalent CFL and LED bulbs are usually the A19 size. Globe Electric says to use the smaller A15 size, but I want to know if the A19 size will fit.

A: I actually bought one of these fixtures to see if the larger bulbs would fit. I can say for a fact that 100-watt equivalent LED and CFL bulbs do fit. They are just a little off center, but they do not touch the glass dome. The dome in this lamp is larger than it looks in the pictures. I have included a picture of the lamp with both 100-watt equivalent LED and CFL bulbs. The LED bulb is size A21. The much smaller bulb on the floor is a standard 60-watt equivalent LED bulb, and even that bulb is identified on the box as an A19. The Globe Electric answer to this question is incorrect when it says A15 bulbs are "required". They might be preferred, but they are not required.
Because this fixture allows excellent air flow, I plan to use 100-watt equivalent LED or CFL bulbs in rooms that need more light. The fixture can handle 60-watt incandescent bulbs, and my 100-watt equivalent CFL bulbs are only 23 watts each. I do not understand why so many light fixtures they sell these days are enclosed because both LED and CFL bulbs tend to overheat and burn out in enclosed fixtures.

Q:Will this fixture hang parallel to the floor when hanging or is the mount rigid? For install on an angled ceiling.

A: Thank you for your inquiry.
There is no pivot point at the top of this fixture.
The mount is therefore rigid.

A: The mount is definitely rigid, and there is no way I can see to modify it since the support rod screws in on both sides. If you want to use a hanging fixture, you probably need one that has a chain.
