Q:Just to clarify - if I buy two of the 2' x 8' x 10.5" boxes, I can stack one ON TOP OF the other to create a single box that's 21" high?

            Answer This Question

A:  Yes that can be done since the posts that hold the side panels are dove tail cut from top to bottom. Each post fits 3 side panels so a 4th side panel holds both the top and bottom of the stacked posts.

            by|Mar 9, 2022

A:  Yes, the garden beds are stackable and expandable. Stacking two 10.5 in. beds will create a 21 in. high bed.

A:  Yes, they can be stacked but you would need a brace to keep corner and center supports aligned.

A:  Yes, you can stack 2 boxes on top of each other and the height will be double. I did that and it worked well.

Q:Has anyone had a problem with the boards buckling or popping out of the corners, after a long rain? We just put one together that's 3' x 3' x 16.5" and am worried it will burst once the soil is wet. Can anyone recommend a way to reinforce the corners?

A:  Mine has not had any problems. It’s been outside filled with compost with iris plants since last year. Has gone thru this years Winter 2022 in Idaho. I lined mine with a fabric. Still holding up. You can use some screws to secure it more. Ones that will not rust. I hope this helps.

A:  We have several much larger boxes, 4' x 8'.  No problems with the corners or the seams.  We put in dry bagged compost and filled them up and watered them after that.  I don't think you need to reinforce anything if the boards are correctly in the slots.

A:  I have had my Greene's garden box for 2 years now. I have never had a problem with the boards popping out. In fact when the soil goes in and expands a bit with the rain, the boards get tighter. I don't think you will have an issue.

A:  I've had a 2x8 and 4x8 for over a year with no problems. Mine is located on a dirt area I prepared by leveling, laying down weed cloth and then gravel. I did go the extra step to line the bottom and sides with good quality weed block cloth as extra protection from weeds coming up the bottom and in hopes that it would extend the life of the wood. Rain has not had any adverse structural effects. I hope this helps!
