Q:My kitchen cabinets are 25in. to front of cabinet doors. If I use 25 in. countertop it would be flush with front of cabinets. Has anyone done this? Wish they made 25.5in.

Answer This Question

A:  Good question. Most cabinets are 24" so the 25" gives a 1" drop edge. My neighbors had a similar issue. We ripped down a 1-1/2 thick butcher block to make a backsplash. The backsplash took up 1.5" so we created a 26.5" top. It looked good as we put the backsplash up 4" from the surface of the top.

      Answer This Question

A:  Yes. These are 1/8" eased edges. You will need to rip 1/8-1/4 off each edge with your saw. The cut is simple and should only take a minute.

Q:Can I use this countertop to stain with a Dark Walnut Premium from Varathane? I am trying to use this as a office desk. And what type of poly finish can I use with this?

        Answer This Question

A:  100% YES. This stain will work great. Pro Tip--if you wanna stain this one time use a flooring grade poly. The flooring grade seems to hold up well over time and keeps the wood looking great for years.

Q:What is recommended maximum overhang beyond end of a bracket?
              by|Mar 4, 2023

              Answer This Question

A:  Many factors come into play with this question, including how the block was sealed, how it is installed and the amount of weight that the block will hold. While we have had customers report up to a 13 inch overhang with zero issues, we urge everyone to err on the side of caution when making these choices.
