Q:I installed 5 of these lights. They are very easy to install, look good and work well. However, they slide down away from the ceiling, leaving about a 1/2 inch gap below ceiling to trim ring. Any ideas on how to make them stay tight to ceiling?

A: Yes. I had a similar issue where the spring tension didn't hold it. I ended up measuring the vertical distance from the outer point where you want the ring to sit against the ceiling to the U-Channel in the can where the springs sit. This is the hint of a lifetime for this to work... you need to bend the springs about 35 degrees on each side such that (looking from the side, as the unit will go into the can, and the spring into the U-Channel of the can) the spring will resemble a Capital "M" with the rounded curl of the spring at the ends rolling down and curling up to make a circle with the open end of the circle facing upwards. Measure from the center of the spring 1 inch lower than that distance and bend to create the "M" shape. The bent part of the wire will create more tension in the U-Channel holding it up tight. You need to ensure that the double-turn bottom of the wire gets secured to the small punchout at the base of the "L" bracket mounted to the light. That little punched-out metal piece is intended to hold the spring in place, but with the new tension created from the bend in the spring, it will not. I found that a very small zip tie (Home Depot [295 276] - Commercial Electric - 40 Pack; White, 4-inch standard cable tie, flexible nylon; UL TYPE 21) will just slide into the space of the punched-out metal and allow you to secure the TOP portion of the circle of the spring to the bracket. trust me when I say nothing else will work, no wire, no twist tie, I tried it all and this was the only thing that could take the pressure. Best Wishes, hope that helps!

A: This is not direct mount into ceiling. This fixture RL56 fixture mounts into housing. Already a complete luminaire consists of a housing and LED module, which need to order separately.
