[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like the HALO LED recessed light. It's easy to install and provides a great amount of light. The ability to select from 5 different color temperatures is a nice feature, as it allows me to customize the lighting to my liking. The included baffle trim also helps to reduce glare, making it suitable for use in a variety of rooms. Overall, I'm very happy with this product and would definitely recommend it to others.

The best

Product exceeded my expectations in initial quality, much better than the lights the cheap electrician used when he installed retrofit cans. Metal housing with multiple ground options included. Let's see how long they last. I love they dim to 5% and do so without the hum my other lights made. The light they emit improves overall look of room as well as improved vision. Thank you!

The lights were easy to install. We used the existing can from old dome lights with the Halo light tension clips to hold the light in place. The trim looks great and fits snug against the ceiling in our master bathroom.

Easy to install

It's aluminum, not plastic, and the light quality is clear. The only downside is the fact that they are expensive.

This product looks good installed. HOWEVER, the mounting mechanism is CHEAP. I have over 100 of these trim kits installed in my new home and they keep falling out of the recessed cans in the ceiling. Many of these are installed where a tall ladder is needed to re-install them. What a pain. This will now be my future, re-installing fallen trim kits for the next 30 years. Halo needs to improve their design.

Excellent product

The RL 4 in. White Integrated LED Recessed Ceiling Light Trim at Selectable CCT (2700K-5000K), Extra Brightness (915 Lumens) is what I used tor a remodel installation in the shower when replacing the tub with a shower kit. I used a stud finder make sure my hole cutter didn't cause any issue in the install. The die-cast construction being Air-Tight was an excellent choice for the shower. I was able to connect the new light to an old light housing with the friction clips, and existing bathroom light using a Leviton Keyless lamp holder. I installed a dimmer switch to dim the light. I downloaded the HALO app and it works good with the light and I turned the light up bright since it is in a dark place.

As for me Halo products are the top of the line, they make a great down light. an LED 4 " ceiling light is the way to go today to upgrade any lighting in your home. This bulb and trim kit is great and dimmable. Select lighting from 2700K to 6500K by sliding the switch on top of the fixture. Great to give different mode lighting to a room where you only want a lower K light or higher K light. Will be installing this in my hallway as soon as I install the 4" can.

Overall, really nice product. I liked: Quick installation in just a few minutes. Quality, color and brightness of light are nice. I prefer the warmest color temperature. I didn't like: Instructions are a hot mess. Difficult to follow, the diagrams don't align with the written instructions and there are so many languages that it's hard to find the ones in English. The selectable light temperature is awesome. When dimmed the color seems to get cooler.The outer flange is a little too small to cover the existing fixture in my case. Instructions refer over and over to the "luminaire". What is a luminaire? As far as I can tell they're talking about the existing high hat you're trying to install this into.

Really like these types of LED lights. You can adjust to color from mellow yellow to bright white. Don't have to keep looking for the right color for the room. It was also very easy to install, comes with a bulb adapter that screws into the old socket and then you spread out the 3 little tabs and push it up into the can. Only thing that was hard was had to attach the ground which was not really that hard.

Review of the Eaton HALO led recessed downlight replacement More people are now looking to reduce expenses, the LED lights can be one of those areas. Those flood lights you have in your drop ceiling or in your drywall ceilings are prime location to make a change. I have 16 of them in my basement. This LED replacement seemed to be a good option. I got rid of the halogen lights and saved a bundle. So I got 1 to try out to see how it looked and how easy it was to install. I removed the large flood light and did a trial fit. I had a difficult time trying to drill a hole in the original trim to screw down the ground wire. I finally got the hole in and secured the ground wire. Before pressing the replacement light into the light trim I got my wife’s opinion on how bright the light needs to be. This light comes with a switch that you can adjust the light color to 5 different levels. User can select from warm white up to daylight bright. The replacement light has 3 metal tabs on the top side where the wires come out. The metal tabs have to be repositioned so it holds the light in place in the original recesses light trim. I then noticed I have the 6 inch recessed light trim not the 4 inch that this unit is made for. Well my ground wire was attached so I slipped the replacement unit up into the original recessed trim. This replacement will work in the larger 6 inch housing. It will be more recessed than originally thought. My wife is pleased with the look of the light and that’s what matters to me. Bottom line: I have been saving money on replacing the old light bulbs with LEDs as I go through the house. The price on the LEDs has come down to so you can feel the savings fairly soon. The lights can be set at your desired brightness and still be on a dimmer switch to further control the lighting.

The trim is very ascetic for decor. The color function of the light is simple to use, just slide the switch on the top of the trim. Installs easily, but the support arms have a tendency to move and not let the trim to stay in place. But overall it is still a good looking and working light. Color frequencies vary from bright white to a shade of pink. Dim-ability is a plus also. You do have to ground the trim with the housing.

This product is easy to install, which I did myself. I removed the spring clip and replaced with the metal clips provided due to my recess light fixtures have no clip to hold the spring. A phillips screwdriver is all you need to change these out. The product offers 5 different settings from daylight to soft light to choose from. The light is dimmable which is great!

We had an electrician install these. He said it was an easy install. They work very well and look great. They're just a little bright at 3000k, but not so much that it bothers us. The light is very even across all 4 lights, which is not always true of a lower quality product. These definitely look like a high quality light. They also change out very easily, which is nice in case a future owner wants to change them.

Outstanding All-in-One Bulb & Trim Replacement. I love the adjustable feature that takes it from soft white to bright white. Such a great feature. Also love the sleek design and look and the fact that it looks so clean once installed. I will be replacing my other (6) old style can light bulbs and trim with this new HALO style design. I also like the fact that the inside heat and a/c cannot escape around the fixture. Great job HALO!!!

This all in one trim replacement to led is wonderful. It has a double life of thirty two years based on six hours a day usage. It saves up to $416 . I love the fact that you can adjust the color. It was very easy to install. The range of from warm white to bright way made it so helpful to match the others in my kitchen. This is also dimmable and usable in the shower

Great product and easy to install (I installed 28 throughout the house). Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that on one of the lights two of the friction clips failed; the light fell out hours after being installed and crashed on the floor - denting floor boards and the metal light rim. The friction clips are very flimsy/weak and I hope no more fail!

I like the selectable temperature color

This unit with the right dimmer is fully dimmable Really easy to retrofit on old canisters There is no perfection I have from hundreds of units installed and 2 or 3 unresponsive after installation.

This light was a great retrofit for the old can light in our master shower. it is so easy to install, really does take less than 5 minutes. After disconnecting the power, I just screwed the light socket part in, plugged that into the receptacle on the fixture, pinched the spring arms together and inserted them in the clips on the can. Power back on and we're in business! So easy! The light itself is nice and bright, and works fine with the dimmer we have in the bathroom. A little tip...The adjustable temperature is located on the fixture, and if you're like me, you might not know what temperature setting is right for your install. What I did was before installing, I attached the screw socket part to the rest of the fixture, and screwed it into a regular table lamp. After turning the lamp on, I could switch temperature settings and decide on a setting before installing the lamp.

SUMMARY: Another great product from Halo. BACKGROUND: We are converting our house and apartment to LED lighting. We have used some Halo conversion kits before and decided to try out the new RL56129S1EWHR model. FIT AND FINISH: This model maintains the appearance standards of the other Halo kits we have installed, sleek, stylish, and well constructed. INSTALLATION AND OPERATION: The integrated lens, baffle, spring clips, and power dongle make installation a snap. I unscrewed the old bulb, removed the trim strips, screwed in the power adapter, plugged everything together, and clipped the fixture into the old recessed canister. Operation is no different than any other light. Switch on-switch off. SUMMARY: Good lighting at a reasonable cost. PROS: Stylish, study.

Love the bright light that these LED retrofit kits. They emit a bright white clean crisp light thas equat to the daylight bulbs we used to buy and replace so often. With these we were told that they could last ten years or more. We are happy if they last a year. The kit installed very easy. We removed the bulb, pulled down the housing and removed it. The next thing we dod was screw in the bulb base into the bulb housing and squeezed the metal spring clamps and pushed the whole thing in a d turned on the light. Easy and fast. Great for our newly enclosed patio.

Have to finish Tiling and Trim work to complete this bathroom project. Extra lighting is not needed with these installed w a future Glass Door.

I have installed several brands of LED can light inserts. This one is unique with its selectable color temperature with 5 settings from 2700K (warm white) to 5000K (daylight). I wasn’t sure if I wanted a whiter look in a small hallway than other places. Initial installation is with 3500K selected—midway between warm white and daylight. I may switch this light to 3000K to warm it up a bit more. So this is where the selectable color pays off. The installation is fairly simple but I found the three spring clips that hold this trim in the can to be a bit problematic. The clips are meant to stay at perpendicular to the outer rim but I found that they had a bit of a tendency to turn as the fixture was inserted despite the metal dimples meant to hold them in place. One other insert I have used has spring clips attached in a different manner and they worked better to hold the insert tightly against the ceiling. Maybe that design feature should be revisited. Other than this one issue, the insert seems well designed and well made.
