Q:What is the actual distance between shelves.?There are been several different answers here. Will both the shelves hold 3 ring binders which usually are 11.5 inches high. I need to use this in an office.

A:  No, I do believe the bottom shelf is only 11.1 inches high and the top shelf is 10.2.

    A:  It’s very sturdy, but there isn’t any supports on the shelves except on the ends. Not sure the shelves wouldn’t bow after time with a lot of canned goods on them

                Q:Can the table be used unfinished or do you have to stain or paint? I like the natural wood look but want to be sure if does or doesn’t need to finish. If painting what type paint is recommended? If it takes lots of work I’d look for something else.

                A:  It is raw unfinished wood and I plan to put a protective wax finish on it so water spots from my diffuser doesn’t ruin it. But the natural wood color is beautiful and I’m currently using it unfinished.
