A: That's really a question for an electrician to make it up to code. Lights and outlets should be on separate circuits.
That being said, you could tap into the power from an outlet. Most outlets have an extra set of prongs that are used to wire additional outlets in a series. You can attach your wires to those, run the wire up the wall and wire the light to it. Use Romex 14/2 wire.
ALL connections need to be done in a box! Make your first connection to the outlet in the outlet box. Run your new wire out the back of the box (there should be a knock out hole to use). Add a new box where you are mounting the light and run the wires into this box. Do NOT just use wire nuts behind the light cover plate. This could cause a fire.

A: Maybe, it has the click switch on it so you might be able to convert it. We just use it as intended though.

A: Probably not. It’s a twist-turn button so you twist the button on top to turn it off and on. On a side note we installed all 4 of ours upside down, works the same, looks better in our room.

A: Not easily. There's no mechanism in the fixture for that.

A: Yes but if you plan to use the switch on the lamp the wall switch would need to be in the on position.

A: Not in a traditional three way switch manner (if that's what you mean). If you wire it to a switch then either the wall switch or the switch on the fixture will turn it off, but then using the other switch won't turn it back on. You need to use three way switches (3 connections) to have the light independently controlled by two switches, and the switch in the fixture itself is not that type.

A: Yes but not in the way you probably want. I.E. Not like a three way switch.

A: Yes, it can be mounted either way. There is a plastic nut that holds the globe on. I mounted one up and one down in my house.
