A: No. There isn't any movable collar on this light. It is stationary. Also, someone said that it can be mounted in either direction, however, if mounted facing down you can't use the glass cover because there isn't anything to hold it in place so, realistically, it can only be mounted facing up.

A: Yes, I installed mine with the globe pointing down to get more light. it works just fine. Just make sure the globe retaining screws are tight against the globe so the globe doesn't slip out.

A: Yes, I did this. But I also used LED bulbs which give off lower heat. Bulbs installed base up
transmit heat into the fixture so you need to be careful when using high watt incandescent bulbs.
