A:  HOW CAN IT BE SHORTENED?

A:  Yes, it can!

A:  The total height of the fixture from ceiling to the end of the longest light is 12.5 inches

A:  It is 12 inches long from ceiling to tip of longest light

A:  It could be used anywhere in the home. I have mine in a small office niche in my bedroom. Pay attention to the measurements. If your bathroom is very large I would say this is to small. These bulbs get extremely hot so much so the fixtures puts off some heat. I will definitely look for led bulbs to replace these. I hope this helps.

A:  I'm using it in a small den. It does not give off very good lighting, but looks great. I definitely would not use it in a bathroom.

A:  No, you cannot install this light fixture in wet or damp locations.
