A:  The inlet for electrical main wires seems to be centered, yes. There might be other off-center options for a popout slug, but I think I used those with a wide washer to screw the unit into a ceiling joist for stability (versus an anchoir or toggle bolt in teh drywall.

A:  Standard 4in Junction Box is what we recommend. Hope this helps.

A:  I used this fixture to replace an existing fluorescent tube fixture - electrical box was already in place. The box is a standard 4" box nailed to a joist and corresponded to the "middle" of the light fixture. Connected white to white, black to black, green to bare, attached the new fixture to the ceiling (sheetrock) with 4"x5/16" toggle bolts (just like the fixture it replaced).

Q:I purchased two of these and want to connect them to a single dimmer switch. I used the Lutron MACL-153MH-WH, but the lights flicker horribly unless the light is set to the maximum setting. Is there a better dimmer to connect a pair of these to? FYI the lights work perfectly when connected to a standard toggle switch.

A:  I also have a 49 x 10 fixture connected to a Lutron TGCL-153P dimmer and it flickers terribly. Oddly, the instructions say your Lutron MACL-153MH-WH will work. The Lutron TGCL-153P dimmer worked fine with the larger 49 x 18 version of this fixture.

A:  Hello Matt. Do the instructions on the dimmer switch say that two lights can be connected? If you want to dim the lights, you may have to put a double gang box and two dimmers (one for each light) it's clear that the dimmer cannot handle two lights, but when on full max the dimmer circuit is bypassed and the lights are connected direct, just like on a standard toggle switch. Kind regards, Al

A:  Hello Mark. I purchased the 4 bulb and the 2 bulb Hampton Bay led lights. A Home Depot associate recommended the Leviton led dimmer switch. I installed on both lights and working for 3 years with no problems. Kind regards, Al

A:  Please look at the specification sheet on the Home Depot website for this product. It lists 15 recommended dimmers made by several manufacturers. If you received a paper specification sheet with the light, it is probably also shown on that document.
