              A:  Maybe just take one of the globes off and take it in and see if they can just swap it for you instead of needing to swap the entire unit.

                    A:  I installed for a tenant. When they moved out in 5 years, it was destroyed by rust. I couldn't believe it. I don't know how soon it started, but it looked like it was found in a ship wreck.

                      A:  Yes, ours started rusting within a few months. Mostly at the thumb screws and the corners. I sent the company photos and they sent me new sconces, but I'm afraid they'll start rusting fairly quickly, just like the original ones, unless they changed the composition of their metal. I haven't installed the replacements yet.

                      A:  I live in Arizona so natural humidity is not a problem. I also have plenty of ventilation in my bathrooms. If you really want the nickel there is a Clear coat spray that is used on chrome and high heat engines. So it will protect the metal from just about anything. Be sure to cover the sockets if you decide to do that. I use it on my outside things because the sun destroys everything if not protected. You can get it at HD. You should make sure you have good ventilation in your bath or fix it first. That can ruin everything you can see.

                          A:  Yes it's true. We used this vanity light in our bathroom and has rusted - especially on the bottom. We've had it for about 2 years.

                              A:  Hello. I would look on the Home Depot web site to see which items they carry. You may also want to check with Hampton Bay to see if they offer the item in chrome. Calling your nearest Home Depot Store, the lighting Department may be able to check with Hampton Bay to see if your choice is available for special ordering.
