A:  Thank you for your question. Yes, you can add a remote/receiver to this fan.The Vaurgas fan is compatible with any of the Hampton Bay universal remote controls. Please note that prior to using the remote, the fan speed must be set to high using the pull chain (1 pull) and the light set to the on setting using the pull chain (1 pull). Once the pull chains are set, the remote will take over control and the pull chains should not be used. We would recommend either model # 68130 or #68131.

      Q:Which wire from the fan is the wire that powers the fan motor? I'm assuming blue but I want to verify. I have two switches and want to utilize both. I have a hot wire (black), and a red wire (2nd switch), and need to know which wire to connect on the fan.

      A:  Thank you for your question. We would suggest contacting a licensed electrician to make sure the wiring is connected correctly. In general, a red wire is typically a switch wire. If you have a red wire and a black wire, you can connect the fan's black and blue wires to the red wire and cap off the black wire.

          A:  Thank you for your question. The lights look that way due to the shade being frosted. The frosted shades can be replaced with clear ones. This fan is compatible with the clear glass shades included with the Rockport fan (model #91854). The shades can be ordered as replacement items by calling Hampton Bay customer service t 1-855-HD-HAMPTON (1-855-434-2678).

            A:  Thank you for your question. The shades are frosted white. The shades appearance is affected by the color temperature of the bulbs. The included bulbs are on the warm side of the spectrum and produce a warmer yellow tone light. If you want a true white appearance, we would suggest replacing the included bulbs with 5000K (daylight) bulbs.

                  A:  Thank you for your question. As stated in the description and specifications, the included bulbs are 9-watt A19 E26 bulbs. These are standard base/shape bulbs.
