A:  The front is a little bit larger than the sides not much. It can be wall mounted or installed recessed.

A:  The front of the cabinet is flush with the sides ... but the front, opening mirror is larger by about 3/4" all the way around.

A:  The front is not flush with the sides. It is very nice and holds a lot. We mounted it on the surface, because we had a tile wall behind it.

A:  Antiqued pewrer/brushed nickel. You may want to try to see it in person. It is hard to describe.

A:  The front of this product is actually a multi-sectioned mirror so the color will be the same as the surrounding room. The sides and interior are painted white (with glass shelves). Here at ThinHaus, we use a brushed nickel light fixture, but you could really use anything you like and be in good shape ... that's really the beauty of the thing.

A:  I’m not sure if it is brushed or satin, but it is definitely silver. I bought brushed nickel fixtures to go with it.

A:  This has a more modern, metallic vibe to it.

A:  The white border looks and feels wood like but the material is some composite material. It doesn't look "cheap" if that is what you are asking.

A:  If you flush mount the cabinet, then you will see metal sides - not white. Only the trim of the glass mirror is white. I think the mirror sides added to the aesthetics to complete the installation. I have been very happy with out purchase.

A:  This unit comes pre-assembled. The front is a combination of glass components ... that you could paint if you really wanted to. The sides are white and can be exposed or recessed. A:  Any time one uses an item in a manner not anticipated by the manufacturer, things get "interesting" and you take a risk with safety and warranty. This unit has a large piece of glass (mirror) that may not be supported properly in the use you describe. Unsupported glass is always a danger and really should be avoided. There may be better products for your project so talk to the experts at Customer Service before you make a decision.

A:  No it would not sit on a cabinet unless you made a piece to fir under the frame for it to sit on.

A:  Hello kbs, we recommend surface or recess mounting for the safest installation. If uninstalled, the medicine cabinet could sit flat without tipping over - concluding it remains empty.
