When properly seated, the slot of the ball will sit on the tab on the inner ring of the mounting bracket. If the ball is not seated properly, the available space in the mounting bracket will be decreased. When sliding the receiver into the mounting bracket, pull the house wires to one side and the fan wires to the other to clear space for the receiver to slide into position.

A:  No, the reversing switch is on the fan body. The fan is shipped from the factory with the reversing switch (YY) positioned to circulate air downward. If airflow is desired in the opposite direction, turn your fan off and wait for the blades to stop turning, then slide the reversing switch (located on the top of the motor housing) to the opposite position, and turn the fan on again. The fan blades will turn in the opposite direction and reverse airflow. Mike

A:  The LED bulbs are bright appear to be simular to daylight not sure they are. Very usable light need to use dimmer function on remote to watch TV. Good range of brightness and dim. Standard base LED bulbs. Replaceable if you want, but probably won't need to. Very nice fan / light.

A:  I have a double switch installed by builder. I abandoned one switch and left the other on, the one I wired the control box to. I don't think your going to be able to control the fan without using the fan's remote. So no to a smart switch but there is a timer on the remote.
