A:  There are 7 rings per package. To get even curtain hang, I bought two packages for curtains for a 24 inch space and used 12 of them.

A:  I used mine to hang drop cloth curtains and i used one clip every 12". I've had the curtains up for a week and the spacing works out great.

A:  That is a personal decision. I am an artist and I did it by "look:...about 2 inches apart

A:  They will certainly hold sheers and even heavier curtains. I'm using them for shade sails I modified for exterior curtains on a sliding glass door and spaced them closely for a neat look. They stand up to wind and rain.

A:  I clipped them closely (every 4" or so) for a neat look on medium weight fabric but it isn't necessary. You could go with 12" spacing. It also depends on how you want them to look -- drapey or more tailored. I suggest trying the drapey look and then adding more if that isn't quite right. That's what I did.

A:  They will hold substantial curtains. The clips grip very tightly. They would hold blackout curtains but I am not sure about lined drapes--haven't tried it.

A:  Sheers of course. Medium is what I installed. Really heavy lined drapes would require closely set rings. I suggest trying it. The clips are small but surprising strong.

A:  I've used them for both sheer and heavy weight draperies. I chose to add a few more rings on the heavy weight drapes to insure they stay attached, since I open and close my drapes almost daily. They are a nice weight ring themselves and the clips are a good quality.

A:  My curtains are fairly thick with a blackout lining and 108 in long and these clips are holding up well. I used all 7 on a single panel though. The panel is 50 inches in width.

A:  The heavier the fabric the more you need; and place them closer together. The more question is how thick fabric: as the clips are small and only open a little over a quarter inch.
