A:  The remote that comes with the fan allows for dimming and brightening the light.

A:  I love my little fan, but I have it in a pantry with two can lights. I like bright light for tasks like cooking, so I would not think the light would be bright enough if it is the only light source.

A:  If it is a small kitchen it may be bright enough. Try the bright daylight bulbs. I installed this in my laundry room and it’s a really small room but this light works great for my needs and the fan is a major plus because we know how warm it gets when a washer and dryer is on! So I suppose it will be great in a kitchen while cooking over a hot stove! Hopefully this helps you in making your decision.

A:  Hello, each light socket can support up to a 14-watt LED bulb. You can use a different colored bulb, as long as you stay within the maximum wattage bulb size. ~Stacy

A:  If your kitchen is small, this fan would work well. It's best not to put in higher wattage than stated on the instructions, but I found that using "natural light" type bulbs (rather than soft white) works even better. It's a very nice looking fan - and it's quiet.
