Q:Can plug in cord from my existing in sink era tor be used on new badger 5 which has no cord?
by|Apr 11, 2024
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: Hi Gerr, thank you for your question. We do not recommend that a factory-installed cord be removed and used on another disposer. The cord is attached using plastic clips that are not meant to be removed. However, we have a power cord kit available that comes with all the necessary components to install a power cord on an uncorded disposer. The model number for this kit is CRD-00.

Answer This Question
A: Hi Rita, thanks for reaching out! We offer both corded and uncorded units. This one is uncorded, so you can either buy the power cord kit (model: CRD-00) separately or you can look for a Badger 5 with cord, which is model #79883A-ISE.

Q:In regard to the Badger 5, can the black rubber top be removed to clean?
by|Mar 18, 2024
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: Hi Lynn, thank you for reaching out. The rubber on top of your disposer cannot be easily removed because it also serves as a mounting gasket. However, you can purchase the Baffle Upgrade Kit (model BUK-00) to upgrade the mounting gasket on the Badger Series disposer to a removable Quiet Collar baffle. This will allow you to easily remove it from the sink for cleaning purposes.

A: Hi KCLN, thanks for the question. Yes, the Badger 1 can replace the Badger 500. This one has a factory-installed power cord, so please check whether your existing unit is hardwired or plugged into an outlet. If it's hardwired, make sure to get the non-corded unit.
