A:  Yes, the lock makes a beep sound when pressing the buttons on the keypad. The lock audio can be disabled using the Kwikset app.

A:  Kwikset electronic locks are intended for installation on a door where the lock's interior is enclosed and protected from the outside elements. The keypad can face the exterior and withstand rain, sun, and snow. The full lock is not weatherproof and not recommended to be installed on an outdoor with no covering. We do not offer electronic locks that can be exposed on both sides.

A:  To change the Access Codes, you must first have the Halo lock paired to the Kwikset App which will allow you to program, edit or delete codes. The Access Codes cannot be programmed or changed directly on the lock.

A:  The 270 Electronic Deadbolt is a stand-alone lock that can only work via the touchpad, the physical key, and the interior turn-piece. It is not compatible with Z-Wave and will not work with Vivint.

A:  Model 270 is a stand-alone lock that just works with the keypad. Wi-Fi, Z-Wave, and Bluetooth are not supported. One advantage is that the batteries last longer without the wireless feature.

A:  To illuminate the screen: Touch the screen with the palm or back of your hand, touch the lower left area of the screen or touch the screen with three or more fingers until the digits illuminate.

A:  Model 270 has a physical touchpad and not a capacitive touchscreen. Simply push the Lock symbol button to illuminate the keypad at night.
